Earthquake, Geological Survey of India (GSI)

An earthquake is the sudden release of energy within the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. This release of energy typically occurs due to the movement of tectonic plates, resulting in a rupture along a fault line, although earthquakes can also be triggered by volcanic activity, human activities (such as mining or dam construction), or other causes. This layer gives the epicenter and magnitute of the Earthquakes.
