NMCG
The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at restoring and conserving the Ganga River through sustainable and comprehensive measures. Established under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, NMCG functions as the implementing arm of the Namami Gange Programme, focusing on pollution abatement, river rejuvenation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable water resource management. Key activities include sewage treatment plant (STP) development, industrial effluent control, riverfront management, afforestation, and public awareness campaigns. By integrating scientific research, community participation, and modern technology, NMCG strives to achieve a cleaner and healthier Ganga ecosystem for future generations.
