State Ground and Surface Water Resources Data Centre: This agency, located in Tharamani, Chennai, offers various services to the public, such as geophysical surveys to determine suitable sites for drilling wells, water quality testing, and providing water-related data to farmers, researchers, and institutions. They also issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the extraction of groundwater for various uses like packaged drinking water and industrial purposes. State Water Resources Management Agency: Established in 2017, this agency focuses on the efficient management of Tamil Nadu's water resources. It is involved in activities such as the creation of the Tamil Nadu Water Resources Information System, conducting water audits, and strengthening the institutional capacity for water management through training and technical support. Additionally, it works on flood modeling and assessing the surface water potential of river basins."
